NEWS: Maine’s Rock & Metal Scene on the Rise in 2025

Maine’s rock and metal community is thriving in 2025, with an influx of bands touring the state and an increase in local talent breaking into the scene. Venues like Aura in Portland and the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor are attracting major acts, while smaller venues such as Geno’s Rock Club and The Apohadion Theater continue to support underground talent.

This year, Portland is expected to host more heavy-hitting acts than ever, including Killswitch Engage, Coheed and Cambria, and Clutch. Meanwhile, Maine’s local metal bands are gaining traction, with groups like Crown of Sorrow and Black Veil Warlocks earning regional recognition.

Fans and musicians alike are hopeful that this momentum will continue, leading to more festivals and larger-scale events within the state. As the demand for heavy music grows, venues are beginning to expand their booking options, giving metal and rock a much-needed resurgence in Maine.
